Changing the WiFi name (SSID) and password

If you need help with one of our routers, please see variations below or call our support team on 033 332 1111 (option 3).
You can change your WiFi name and password by manually logging into your router and changing the settings. It can be easier to remember a personalised WiFi name and password, but remember to set a secure password.

    1. Connect your computer/laptop.
      Make sure you are connected to your Hyperoptic internet connection using either your wired or wireless connection. For help go to wired and wireless connection help and advice.

 

    1. Logging into your HyperHub Settings
Open your internet browser and enter 192.168.1.1 in the address box, exactly as written. You will see the router log in screen load, enter your user credentials found at the back of the HyperHub.
UserName: XXXXX
UserPass: XXXXX

  • Changing WiFi name (SSID)
    Select Network>WLAN>SSID Settings and in the SSID Name field enter the new wireless name you would like. Select Submit.

  • Changing WiFi password
    Select Security and in the WPA Passphrase field enter the new wireless name you would like. Select Submit. Remember, passwords with upper and lower case letters and numbers are more secure.

  • Reconnecting your device
    You will need to reconnect any devices that uses your wireless network to the new WiFi name and password.



Router Variations:



Inteno
Inteno-routerTRANS
Type 192.168.1.1 into your browser and the log in screen will load for your router. The login credentials are:
Username: user
Password: user

Once you have entered your login credentials, select Wireless>Basic>SSID:

Enter the new desired name of your wireless network and select Apply/Save.

To change the wireless password, select Security and enter your new desired password in the WPA/WAPI passphrase section, then select Apply/Save to complete.

NOTE: create a password that is unique and secure.

Once you have changed the information above you may need to reconnect any devices that uses your wireless network by entering the new credentials.


Tilgin
Tilgin-RouterTRANS
Type 192.168.1.1 into your browser and the log in screen will load for your router. The login credentials are:
Username: admin
Password: abcd2301

Once you have entered your login credentials, select Wireless and click on your current SSID (wireless network name, highlighted in blue).

In the ‘Name’ field, enter the new desired name of your wireless network and select ‘Apply’.

To change the wireless password, select ‘Security’ and enter your new desired password in the ‘Passphrase’ section, then select ‘Apply’.

IMPORTANT: always ensure you save the new settings in the upper right corner of the screen before exiting.

NOTE: create a password that is unique and secure.

Once you have changed the information above you may need to reconnect any devices that uses your wireless network by entering the new credentials.


ZTE

Type 192.168.1.1 into your browser and the log in screen will load for your router. The login credentials are for are located on the back of the router.

Once you have entered your login credentials, select Network>WLAN>SSID Settings.

In the ‘SSID Name’ section enter your new desired wireless, and select Submit when complete.

To change the wireless password select ‘Security’ and enter your new desired password in the ‘WPA Passphrase’ field, the select Submit when done.

NOTE: create a password that is unique and secure.

Once you have changed the information above you may need to reconnect any devices that uses your wireless network by entering the new credentials.
